About Our Rescue Group
The Sunburst Foundation is a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters and placing them in permanent homes. Most of the dogs are in foster homes, where they are already trained to be the perfect companion when they are adopted. WE ALSO DO COURTESY POSTINGS FOR DOGS AND CATS AT PENDER CTY ANIMAL CONTROL.

Foster homes and monetary donations are greatly appreciated. This ensures the successful continuation of our program.
Our Adoption Process
Our adoption process begins with you meeting a puppy pal of your interest. If we feel the match would be great for you and the dog, we encourage a trial foster period for potential adopters to get to know their new friend. If the fostering works out, then the next step is adoption!!!! A donation between $125 and $200 per dog is requested, depending on the specifics of each case, and then the match is permanent.
