Pearl River County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a Mississippi state non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the welfare and humane treatment of animals throughout the county. It operates solely from funds provided locally. Private donations are important to accomplishing this mission.

Our pets are available for adoption at 1700 Palestine Road in Picayune, Monday through Friday 10 to 5. After hour appointments can be made. We are also at PETsMART in Slidell with our dogs on Saturday and Sunday, our cats are on display there during all store hours 7 days a week.

We do same day adoptions after a personal interview. We have a contract that requires Veterinary care and proper treatment. Our cats must be indoors and not declawed, most dogs require a fenced yard. Our cats and kittens are adopted already spayed/neutered (S/N) for $75. Our dogs and puppies are adopted already S/N for $90. The dogs are microchipped and cats can be microchipped for an additional $10. We take cash, check, and credit/debit cards. All of our dogs and puppies are microchipped. Adults (anyone over 6 months) are tested for heartworms and are h/w free unless otherwise noted on our website www.prcspca.org under "Dogs Looking for Homes". Heartworm positive dogs are put thru a modified treatment before placing them up for adoption We bring our puppies and dogs to PETsMART in Slidell almost every Saturday and Sunday. We always have our cats and kiitens on display for adoption there. You can call the shelter at 601-798-8000 M-F from 10 am until 5 pm for more information on any of our listed pets. We have same day adoptions (unless they have not yet been spayed or neutered), all our babies are spay/neuter when they go home, have microchip, come with 30 day health insurance, a 30 day return policy, and a 5 pound bag of Science Diet food. They have as many shots as we have been able to give them based on the time we have had them.
